Man stabbed on Capital Crescent Trail
Two suspects are in custody as police investigate a stabbing on the Capital Crescent Trail in Bethesda.

At approximately 4:01 p.m. on Friday, Montgomery County and park police responded to a call for an assault near Bethesda Avenue. Three men got into a physical fight, and one was stabbed. He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the stabbing is unrelated to the recent sexual assault on a female jogger on the Capital Crescent Trail. This was not a random attack, as the three men knew each other.

Police have increased patrols on the trail and are urging residents to carry a whistle or a noisemaker.

Men caught on camera for credit card theft
Prince George's County police are searching for two men who used stolen credit card numbers to go on a shopping spree at a Clinton strip mall.

The card used on the 8800 block of Woodyard Road was also used in Bowie and Bladensburg, police said. The Clinton strip mall includes a Toys R Us, Giant, Kmart, a spa, a gym, and other businesses.

Both men are black and wore baseball caps when committing the crime. They were captured in surveillance photos, which police have made available at pgpolice.blogspot.com.

Anyone with information about the men is urged to call the police's organized retail crime unit at 301-699-2666. Anonymous tips can be left at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). - Lisa Gartner
