Jane and Lara call it quits
After just three short years, "Glee" star Jane Lynch and her wife, Dr. Lara Embry, are getting divorced, People reports.
The couple met in 2009 at a fundraiser for the National Center for Lesbian Rights and got married the following year in Massachusetts, where gay marriage is legal.
At the time of her engagement, Jane was overjoyed, telling People, "I'm thrilled. ... I never thought that this is something I wanted," adding, "It's just the greatest thrill in the world to find somebody that you want to be with every day."
And as recently as 2011, Lara was gushing about her first encounter with Jane, telling Vogue magazine, "I had stopped dating altogether. I mean, you have to sit down and think, 'How do you trust your judgment?' But I saw Jane walking in the lobby and I thought, 'I'm supposed to follow her.' It was like I'd been picked up in a fishing net. I was supposed to go that way -- and she was actually going the wrong way! But it was like the door was cracked. It was perfect."
But unfortunately, now it's back to reality.
"Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter," the 52-year-old Jane said in a statement.
And they aren't wasting any time getting this painful process over and done with. Jane has already moved out of the former couple's Laurel Canyon home in Los Angeles, a source told Us Weekly.
