The last-ever four-day convention?

It strikes me that this 40th Republican National Convention is the last four-day national convention we'll ever see. The Democrats are going just three days next week, and the Republican convention today was technically in session for only a few minutes. So one party will win having had effectively only a three-day convention. And the broadcast networks are only covering each for three days.

So why spend all the extra money for a fourth day?
