President Obama joins in the widespread internet meme – McKayla is not impressed - with  U.S. Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney.

The meme spread after Maroney made a face when she was awarded a silver medal for a Olympic gymnastics competition that she expected to win.

This isn’t the first time President Obama has demonstrated his in-depth knowledge of internet memes.

During a speech to NASA, the president specifically mentioned ‘Mohawk Guy,” and made a Hillary Clinton texting joke at the White House Correspondence Dinner when the ‘Texts from Hillary’ blog was popular.

Obviously Obama’s staff is the one who keeps him up to date on the latest jokes online, but it demonstrates that the White House is determined to engage the cultural topics springing up on the internet.
