Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was nominated on Tuesday by his party to run for president in August, his announcement greeted by thousands of cheering supporters.

And as part of his election effort, Team Erdogan has designed and unveiled a sleek campaign logo:

Wait. That looks really, really familiar:

Well, would you look at that?

Should Erdogan's presidential bid prove successful, it would grant him at least five more years of control.

Erdogan, 60, has been in power since 2003, but he is ineligible to run again for prime minister.

“The Turkish presidency is a largely symbolic post, but Erdogan has said he favors a system that gives the president more powers,” the Associated Press reported.

“He failed to muster sufficient support to make constitutional changes for an all-powerful president but has suggested that, if elected, he would fully use latent presidential powers, including the right to call Cabinet meetings, so that he can rule Turkey with as much authority as he has enjoyed as premier,” the report added.
