A Great Falls man tried to bring a live smoke grenade aboard an airplane at Washington Dulles International Airport.
Transportation Security Administration officers found the grenade hidden under the inner lining of a passenger's bag on Sunday.
Airport police confiscated the grenade and allowed the man to continue onto his flight to Denver. The man was not charged.
TSA officials remind travelers that weapons -- including smoke grenades and stun-guns -- are not permitted in carry-on luggage, and travelers can be fined up to $11,000 if they are caught with prohibited items.
