LINCOLN, R.I. (AP) — Executives at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln say they'll be adding 600 more full-time and part-time jobs by July to prepare for an expansion that includes the casino's first table games. That's 250 more jobs than initially estimated.
Casino Chairman John Taylor Jr. announced the updated jobs projection Wednesday. He said Twin River will be boosting its work force from 900 to 1,500. The new jobs will include 400 full-time positions and 200 part-time positions.
Casino officials say they'll be doing most of the hiring in March and April, and nearly 85 percent of the new workers will be Rhode Island residents. The new jobs will include dealers, managers, accountants, cashiers and security personnel.
State voters approved the expansion of the slots parlor in November.
