Twitter outage hits DC during Chuck Hagel hearing

As Washington journalists began tweeting about the Senate confirmation hearings for former Sen. Chuck Hagel R-Neb. this morning, they were met with a widespread Twitter outage at about 10:30 EST.

As of now, there is no mention of the outage on the official Twitter blog.
