The person found dead in a burning cab Wednesday had been shot in the head, according to police, who have charged two suspects with murder.

Police arrested Waldorf-resident Joshua Terrell Mebane, 17, on Friday, charging him as an adult with felony murder. A juvenile female, also from Maryland, was also charged with felony murder.

Authorities did not identify the victim, but said the deceased was driving the taxi before it was found on the 1400 block of the Brentwood Parkway in Northeast D.C. shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday night.

The cab had run into a fence and was on fire. Crews extinguished the flames and pulled the body from the car.
