Three people, including two firefighters, were injured in a collision between a fire engine and a civilian vehicle in Prince George's County, officials said.

About 9:45 a.m. Saturday, firefighters and medics were notified of a possible house fire in Berwyn Heights. A fire engine responding to the incident was involved in a collision with another vehicle on Kenilworth Avenue near the Capital Beltway.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital, according to Prince George's County Fire/EMS officials. The civilian vehicle's driver was also being taken to a hospital to be evaluated.

The fire department vehicle, which was from a station in Greenbelt, sustained significant damage. It is out of service, and may be so for an extended period of time, officials said.

The Berwyn Heights incident was actually a malfunctioning electrical outlet and has been handled.
