Two Georgetown students assaulted during burglary

Two Georgetown University students were assaulted in their home early Saturday morning, according to university safety officials.

The students found a burglar in their home, on the 3500 block of O Street NW, at about 3:45 a.m., according to the university's Department of Public Safety.

The culprit struck both students, who sustained minor injuries, before fleeing toward the Georgetown campus, according to authorities.

D.C. police are investigating the incident.

Authorities described the assailant as a white male, about 21 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with brown hair. He was seen wearing a light-blue shirt and blue jeans.
