Two men were assaulted in Northeast D.C. over the weekend, and police said they are investigating the incident as a hate crime.

The attack occurred about midnight Sunday in the 1900 block of 3rd Street NE. Three males yelled homophobic slurs at the victims and assaulted them, police spokesman Officer Anthony Clay said.

One of the victims was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Clay said. Police are still looking for the suspects.

According to Fox 5, one of the victims is a well-known yoga instructor.
