Two overnight D.C. shootings leave one dead

Two shootings in D.C. have left one man injured and another man dead.

Police said the first shooting occurred at about 2 a.m. on Saturday in the 600 block of Edgewood Street NE. An unidentified man was transported to the hospital where he later died. The second shooting occurred just after 3:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Delaware Avenue where a man was shot in the chest. He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

The two shootings appear unrelated. Police are still searching for suspects.
