A U.S. Capitol Police officer was struck by a vehicle while she was conducting a traffic stop near Union Station, officials said.

The incident took place at about 8:20 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. The officer was outside her vehicle during the traffic stop when another vehicle struck her, according to U.S. Capitol Police spokesman Officer Shennell Antrobus.

The officer was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. She was released from the hospital Friday morning, according to U.S. Capitol police officials.
