Unemployment up 170,000 last month, unemployment rate higher today then when Obama took office

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released the October jobs report today showing that the labor market has only gotten worse since President Obama was sworn into office.

The number of unemployed Americans rose by 170,000 in October and the unemployment rate rose to 7.9 percent. When Obama was inaugurated in January 2009 unemployment was just 7.8 percent.

Overall the number of unemployed Americans is up by 209,000 since Obama took office.
