COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) — The Mississippi University for Women has been awarded a $30,000 federal grant to help foster development of local businesses.
WTVA-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1m5Mgwg ) the grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The funding is managed through the department's Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program.
The university says it will use the funds to provide training and technical assistance to small businesses.
