MEAD, Neb. (AP) — The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Behlen Observatory will be open free to the public for viewing next week.

Provided the sky is clear, visitors will be able to see several celestial objects with the observatory's 30-inch telescope and with smaller telescopes set up outside. Objects include the moon, the planet Jupiter, star clusters and double stars.

The event is scheduled to run from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday. A member of the observatory staff will present a program at 8 p.m. on the discovery of other solar systems.
