UPDATE: Carjacking suspect dies after D.C. police shoot him in SE

UPDATE: D.C. police reported that the suspect died from his injuries after he was shot by officers as he got out of a carjacked vehicle with a gun. Police also said they were not sure how the officer was injured.

A D.C. police officer and another person have been shot, police said, and investigators have arrived on the scene in Southeast Washington.

The shooting happened about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday on the 800 block of Barnaby Street SE. The officer sustained a graze wound, while the other person, whom police called a suspect, was unconscious and unresponsive.
