UPDATE: Man arrested in Gaithersburg shooting

Updated Oct. 31, 1:13 p.m.: An Ashburn man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder for allegedly shooting a man in Gaithersburg.

Gaithersburg and Montgomery County police arrested Justin Tirell Anderson, 25, after police found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the 1000 block of Westside Drive at 5:04 p.m. Monday.

Anderson was also charged late Tuesday with use of a handgun in the commission of a felony, and was being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center.

The victim, described only as a black male, was taken to a local hospital. He was in critical but stable condition as of Wednesday morning.

Gaithersburg and Montgomery County police are investigating a Tuesday afternoon shooting that sent one man to the hospital.

Police from the city and county were called to the 1000 block of Westside Drive in Gaithersburg, where they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound, according to county police.

The victim was transported to a local hospital. His condition was not immediately available.

One suspect, also an adult male, is in custody, according to Montgomery County police.
