DALLAS (AP) — Early childhood education is to be the topic of the day as Education Secretary Arne Duncan speaks to the Dallas Regional Chamber.
The top federal education official will appear at a chamber luncheon Tuesday. Also appearing will be Jacqueline Jones, Duncan's deputy assistant secretary for policy and early learning. She will engage in a discussion of early childhood education with Susan Hoff, Senior Vice President of Community Impact at United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.
Also attending will be Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and Dallas school Superintendent Mike Miles.
Before the speaking engagement, Duncan is scheduled to visit a Dallas high school with Rawlings, Miles and Dallas school district board President Lew Blackburn.
