U.S. endurance swimmer Diana Nyad is closing in on the shores of Key West in her attempt to become the first person to swim to Florida from Cuba without a shark cage. There were at least a couple of hundred people waiting for her on the beach, cheering and blowing horns as she approaches. They can see her strokes splashing in the water.
