SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah restaurant owner is set to compete on "The Next Food Network Star."

Food Network announced chef Viet Pham this week as one of 12 contestants.

Pham, the co-owner of Salt Lake City restaurant Forage, will be a contestant on the ninth season of "The Next Food Network Star."

He will be judged by Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis and Alton Brown. A group of fans will also cast votes.

Magazine Food & Wine named Pham and Forage co-owner Bowman Brown together as "best new chef" in 2011.

Pham has made other appearances on Food Network. Earlier this year, he beat Bobby Flay on an episode of "Iron Chef America." He was also a 2012 runner-up on "Extreme Chef."

The show premieres June 2.
