Va. mother of baby found dead charged with neglect

PULASKI, Va. (AP) — A woman whose infant son was found dead in Pulaski County has been arrested on a warrant charging her with felony child neglect.

Pulaski Police Chief Gary Roche says 29-year-old Samantha Warden was arrested at a home in Campbell County on Wednesday night. Her fiance, Howard Cole, was earlier charged with child abuse after 5-month-old Cory Cole was reported missing on Jan. 29.

The baby's body was found two weeks ago in a wooded area.

Media outlets report Samantha Warden was held without bond Thursday at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail. It wasn't immediately known whether she has an attorney.

Roche has said additional charges are possible once an autopsy report is complete.
