AMELIA, Va. (AP) — The winter storm is being blamed for a traffic fatality in Virginia.
According to Virginia State Police, a driver was killed Monday morning when he lost control of his pickup truck and ran off an ice- and snow-covered road in Amelia County. The truck hit an embankment, overturned onto the passenger side and crashed into a tree. The 30-year-old driver died at the scene.
Police said speed and weather conditions were factors in the crash.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt. His name was being withheld until relatives could be notified.
