NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — State officials say a vacation resort company has opened a call center in Johnson City, adding 100 jobs in the process.

Gov. Bill Haslam and state Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty say the new call center represents a $1.1 million investment in Carter County.

Asheville, N.C.-based Festiva Hospitality is owned by Festiva Adventure Group. The company manages and operates resorts throughout the United States and Caribbean, as well as a fleet of luxury yachts.

The new inbound-outbound call center is housed in south Johnson City. The company cites the Tri-Cities area's strong labor pool and the willingness of state and local officials to help establish operations successfully as reasons it located the call center there.
