VanBuren Henderson, 3 W.Va. governors' chef, dies

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — VanBuren Henderson, an executive chef who served three West Virginia governors, has died. He was 92.

Reger Funeral Home says Henderson died Friday at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.

The Huntington resident was chef to former Governors Jay Rockefeller, Cecil Underwood and Arch Moore. He also served as executive chef at several hotel and restaurants, including the Frederick Hotel in Huntington, The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs and Greenhills Country Club in Ravenswood.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel in Huntington.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters.
