The victims of two fatal crashes in Prince William County have been identified.

About 5:50 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the area of Lee Highway and Old Carolina Road in Gainesville. A 2008 Acura TL was traveling northbound on Lee Highway when 19-year-old Damien Charles Banks, of Gainesville, crossed in front of the car and was struck. Banks was taken to a hospital where he died as a result of his injuries, police said.

The Acura's driver, a 36-year-old Culpeper man, remained at the scene and wasn't injured.

Less than an hour later, police responded to a crash in the area of Bristow Road and Independent Hill Drive in Brentsville. An investigation found that 46-year-old Randy Allen Lane of Bristow lost control of his 2007 Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle and ran into a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police do not know when the crash occurred, but they believe it took place sometime during the overnight hours, before a passing driver notified police after sunrise on Sunday.
