It appears Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz has started a Dr. Seuss fad in Congress.

During the House budget debate, Rep. Lois Frankel, R-Fla., took time to read from Dr. Seuss on the floor to illustrate what she termed the "ridiculousness" of the government shutdown talk.

After holding up a copy of Seuss' "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish," Frankel read a quote from "Fox in Socks" instead.

"To quote Dr. Seuss," she said. "When beetles fight these battles in a bottle with their paddles, and the bottle's on a poodle and the poodle's eating noodles, they call this a muddle puddle tweetle poodle beetle noodle bottle paddle battle."

"Mr. Speaker," she continued. "It's time to work together and stop these beetles — stop the battles!"
