“Well, there goes that.”
- Vice President Joe Biden’s response after he butchered his remarks Saturday night at the State Society of Iowa’s First in the Nation Celebration, where he was a surprise guest. “I am proud to be President of the United States, but I am prouder to be Barack...” Biden began and then stopped once he noticed the audience was chuckling. “I am proud to be vice president of the United States, but I’m prouder to be Barack Obama, President Barack Obama’s vice president.” He then tried to switch back into serious mode. “I guess I’m not going to get back to a serious note, am I?” Biden stated as party guests continued to roar.
