On Thursday, President Obama announced his support of Senate Democrats decision to change the rules on the filibuster, pointing out that it was the right thing to do to keep the government working.
"I'm a former senator. So is my vice president. We both value any Senate's duty to advise and consent. It's important, and we take that very seriously," Obama explained during a statement to reporters at the White House.
But Obama and Biden were vehemently against the idea in 2005, when it was proposed by Senate Republicans.
