A 29-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning after he drove a woman from Arlington to Prince William County and sexually assaulted her, police said.

Patrick Michael Chaloupka, of Stafford, was charged with sodomy and object sexual penetration, according to Prince William County police. He was being held without bond Wednesday.

About 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, a 20-year-old California woman told police that she was picked up by Chaloupka in Arlington and driven to a wooded area off Joplin Road in Prince William County. At that location, the suspect implied that he had a knife and sexually assaulted the woman, police said.

Chaloupka then dropped the victim off at the WaWa gas station at Jefferson Davis Highway and Cardinal Drive in Woodbridge, where she contacted police. The woman did not know her attacker but was able to give officers a tag number for the vehicle he used, which was connected to an address in Stafford County. Deputies in that county found the vehicle and detained Chaloupka near his home.
