DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan will continue a rush of candidates to Iowa with an event in Cedar Falls.

Ryan will attend a rally Friday afternoon at the University of Northern Iowa.

His visit will come a day before Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and Democratic President Barack Obama hold Saturday events in Dubuque.

On Thursday, Vice President Joe Biden planned stops in Muscatine and Fort Dodge.

Iowa is among less than a dozen battleground states that are the focus of both campaigns in a frenzy of events before Tuesday's election.
