NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — The president of the Virginia School Boards Association is planning to visit each of the association's nine regions throughout the state.
On Wednesday, Kerri Wilson will visit three elementary schools in Norfolk.
Wilson is visiting schools and communities in each region to get a better understanding of the challenges that schools and their divisions are facing. Wilson is also looking to gain a better understanding of each division's successes, too.
Wilson says firsthand knowledge is necessary to be a better advocate for the state's school children with the General Assembly and other organizations.
