The teenage Britney Spears really was not that innocent, mom Lynne dishes in a new tell-all book about her life parenting a pop star. The elder Spears’ memoir “Through the Storm” was reportedly leaked to the U.K.’s Sun, and contains revelations about teenage sex and drug use that will shock and disillusion … well, anyone who’s still capable of being shocked and disillusioned by Britney.
After picking up the bottle at 13, the pop princess, says her mama, first tried drugs at 15, while recording her debut album in L.A. According to the New York Daily News, Lynne recalls Britney being found with cocaine and marijuana on a private jet when she was 16.
And so much for teen Britney’s virginity claims, declares Lynne: The ex-Mouseketeer turned mom of two is said to have been intimate with a football-playing high school boyfriend at only 14. Then, Lynne says, she condoned Brit sleeping with then-beau Justin Timberlake at 16.
OK, so she grew up too fast. Duh. But after all the progress Britney’s made, why would her own mother air her dirty laundry in print? Who does Lynne think she is — Michael Lohan?
Lily: Bullied?
Lily Allen has taken to — what else? — MySpace to respond to the media firestorm over last week’s GQ Awards, where the apparently inebriated songstress traded catty barbs with co-host Sir Elton John. But the “Smile” singer insists the zingers were all in good fun.
“Elton John and I are friends,” insists Lily, adding that she was “honored” when the legendary pianist asked her to co-present with him.
“I’m not defending my drunkenness because I don’t need to,” the up-and-comer continues. “I’m 23, it was an awards ceremony, I drank the free champagne, how awful of me.”
But “trying to create a feud … and trying to make me out as being some rude little girl with a drink problem is just unfair,” she complains. “Elton and I exchanged jokes and there were no hard feelings at all; in fact, neither of us gave it a second thought. It’s sad that an evening enjoyed by all had to ruined by some bitter journos again.”
“All these showbiz journalists are just bullies when it comes down to it,” she concludes.
We have no idea what she’s talking about. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to call Lily names and take her lunch money.
New Home for Hayden
Is Hayden Panettiere putting the brakes on her romance with “Heroes” co-star Milo Ventimiglia? According to a Star report, the 30-year-old Milo is upset because Hayden, 18, moved out of her parents’ home — but instead of playing house with him, she opted to get her own pad.
“They were looking, and then Hayden suddenly bought this $2.6 million house in West Hollywood,” a friend of the actress told the tabloid. “He isn’t happy.”
Hayden, for her part, is said to be “freaking out” that her older beau is bringing up marriage.
“She’s not even old enough to have a drink, so she’s not even thinking about settling down,” the pal explains.
Sounds sensible to us. Don’t rush into anything, Hayden —you’re young; enjoy your freedom!
Selena’s Denial
Selena Gomez is squashing the rumor that her new song “I’m Sorry” is about rumored boyfriend Nick Jonas. After she told “Twist” the track was “about a boy I kind of fell for, but he couldn’t let his ex-girlfriend go, and it was really difficult,” speculation arose that she was referring to Nick’s ex, fellow tween queen Miley Cyrus.
But “it’s definitely not about Nick Jonas,” the Disney star insisted to People. “It’s about someone back home in Texas. When I read [the rumor], I was like, ‘Oh, no, this gossip has to go away!’”
Ah, the old “He’s from Texas, you don’t know him” line. We’ve heard that one before!
