BETHESDA, Md. (AP) — Officials at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda say the hospital is participating in a Navy-wide anti-terrorism exercise this week.
Navy officials say the drill is scheduled for Thursday. They are warning that local residents, staff, patients and visitors to the hospital may see police activity and hear sirens and loudspeaker announcements.
Hospital officials say there will be little impact on patient care or the building's operations. But they will hand out flyers Thursday to patients and visitors, warning of the terrorism drill.
