Sometimes, videos tell the story far better than any written words possibly could and that is especially the case with last night's hearing of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on the IRS scandal.

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen -- revealed Monday by the Washington Free Beacon to be a lifetime major donor exclusively to Democratic candidates and campaign committees -- was absolutely roasted by multiple GOP members of the panel.

They were bewildered and angered by Koskinen's delay in telling Congress and the American public that a hard drive crash in Lois Lerner's computer somehow irretrievably destroyed nearly two years worth of emails to and from her to and from individuals outside of the IRS.

The miracle computer crash

Not only did the hard drive crash on Lerner's computer destroy key emails on her computer, it also somehow managed to forever erase them from the IRS servers and backup tapes.

It just so happens that the destroyed emails would have quite possibly have been to and from people in places like the Obama White House.

Perhaps most amazingly, however, the crash took out emails on the computers of six other key IRS officials, even though IT experts like David Kennedy, appearing on Fox News' "On The Record" With Greta Van Susteren insists that is a digital impossibility.

It wasn't pretty

To appreciate just how ludicrous Koskinen's claims must appear to the rest of the country, check out the cross-exams of him last night by Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C.

Jordan focuses on Koskinen's failure to tell Congress for weeks after he was told by somebody -- who he cannot recall -- that the emails were lost forever. Jordan's key question is simply "at what point does it become obstruction of justice."

Gowdy explains the significance of "spoliation of evidence," the willful destruction of material evidence in a criminal, civil or administrative case. This may be a preview of what former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton can expect when the Benghazi special committee hearings begin.
