EMPORIA, Va. (AP) — A funeral service will be held Wednesday for a Greensville County deputy sheriff who was found dead in his car in a creek.
An obituary posted on Owen Funeral Home's website says the service for 52-year-old Percy Lee House II is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Golden Leaf Commons in Emporia. A private burial will follow at House Family Cemetery.
Media outlets report that a dive team found House dead inside his car in a creek Saturday morning. Virginia State Police are investigating but officials say his car apparently skidded off an icy road into the creek.
House was last seen in the Greensville town of Skippers. He last made contact with the sheriff's office about 9:24 a.m. Friday.
