Much of the focus this week has been on our southern border. Since October, more than 52,000 unaccompanied minors have crossed illegally into the United States. President Obama has asked Congress for $3.7 billion to deal with the problem.
Obama made a visit to the Lone Star State this week. While in Texas, he met with Gov. Rick Perry to discuss the growing border problem, but in a highly criticized move, Obama didn't actually pay a visit to the border. The president said we wasn't interested in a photo-op, only interested in solving the problem. Obama's primary reason for the visit was to raise money for the Democratic National Committee.
