CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Saying Gen. Wesley Clark simply enjoyed Michelle Obama's convention speech would be a major understatement.

"Michelle Obama's speech was probably the single most powerful speech I've ever heard in politics, it was absolutely phenomenal," he cooed to Yeas & Nays at Wednesday night's Got Your Six event, which Clark attended to support veterans. That's pretty strong praise, but did he tear up at all? "Yes," he began. "Well, look, it was an amazing speech, it was just an amazing speech, she touched everyone's heart, you just couldn't help but, you know -- if a single speech can win an election she just won this election for the Democrats."

Clark also said that he admired the work that the first lady and Jill Biden were doing in support of military families. "She told my wife she was going to do that before she was even elected," he said of FLOTUS. "She'd met enough troops, she'd met enough families, she knew what this was about and she was determined to try and help because she had seen the terrible dislocation and the stress put on these families."
