White House Press Secretary Jay Carney suggested to reporters that Iran and it’s terrorist surrogate, Hezbollah, is responsible for the bombing of a bus in Bulgaria carrying Israeli students.

“I would note as a general principle [that] Hezbollah has backed and Iran has backed terrorist actions against innocent people in third countries,” Carney said during today’s press gaggle, without definitively holding Iran responsible for the attack. “We will work with and provide assistance to Israel and Bulgaria in the effort to find out who was responsible for the attack in Bulgaria and to hold accountable the responsible party or parties,” he said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is already considering a military strike to stop Iran’s nuclear program, said that this is an Iranian terror attack that is spreading across the world,” before promising that “Israel will react forcefully to Iran’s terror.”
