White House Press Secretary Jay Carney explained to reporters this afternoon that President Obama supported additional gun control measures, but added that it was only “part” of the solution.

“It’s a complex problem that will require a complex solution,” Carney said. “No single piece of legislation, no single action will fully address this problem.”

Carney dodged multiple questions from reporters who pressed for more details on what the president planned to do.

“I don’t have a specific timeline for you for what the president will do moving forward,” Carney said refusing to speculate on the proposals that the president would consider.
