White House: No, Obama is not getting a replica Oval Office

President Obama will not have two Oval Offices for the summer, his spokesman said, even though some renovating of the White House will take place.

“Reports about a replica Oval Office are false,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters. “No one is moving from the West Wing.”

Carney was apparently responding to a report from Real Clear Politics. “This summer there will be two Oval Offices in the White House complex, and it won’t be a case of double vision,” RCP reported last week. “In preparation for a major, two-year renovation of the West Wing, the government is undertaking extensive work to complete a new executive office for President Obama at the south end of the adjacent Eisenhower Executive Office Building.”
