Dan Pfieffer, a senior adviser to President Obama, confirmed this morning that the president’s proposed budget will never balance.
“So, there’s not going to be a date where it balances?” Politico’s Mike Allen asked Pfieffer.
“No,” he replied. “What it’s going to be is its going to put us on a path that is consistent with the mutually agreed upon levels of deficit reduction that we should have.”
Obama’s budget is three months late. The House and Senate have already passed their proposals, though neither has passed both chambers of Congress.
