During today’s White House Press Briefing, a reporter asked Press Secretary Jay Carney if the president was considering releasing the beer recipe for it’s White House Honey Ale.

A petition to release the recipe was filed on the White House website and a Reddit user has filed a FOIA request in hopes of uncovering the secret.

“I am not aware of any plans at this time to divulge the secret recipe,” Carney said in response to the reporter’s question.

The Honey Ale was brewed by White House chefs in 2011, using some of the honey from the White House beehive.

The President also brought the homebrew with him on his campaign bus trip earlier this month.
