Deputy White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest refused to comment on recent reports that the Obama administration is planning to release more oil from the Stratigic Oil Reserves to lower gas prices.

“I don’t have any comment about those kinds of conversations.” Earnest said after dodging the question from multiple reporters.

According to a report from Reuters, “a source with knowledge of the situation” said the White House is “dusting off old plans” for another potential release of oil reserves.

President Obama released 30 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to reduce gas prices in June 2012.
