Virginia Gov. Robert F. McDonnell (R) and his wife received more than $150,000 in cash and gifts to promote the company of a campaign donor. The first family has since repaid the money and returned the gifts, but the governor and Mrs. McDonnell are now the subject of fast-moving federal and state investigations.
