TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A wild bear cub briefly disrupted traffic near Busch Gardens in Tampa.

Police say the bear was spotted near the University of South Florida early Tuesday. It eventually climbed a tree near the front gates of Busch Gardens.

Officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission tranquilized the bear just before 5 a.m. Authorities say the bear fell from the tree a short time later. It was expected to be ok.

Police say Busch Boulevard was briefly shut down in the area while the bear was tranquilized.

Authorities say they don't know where the bear came from.
