ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have recalled rookie forward Charlie Coyle from the Houston Aeros of the AHL and placed defenseman Jared Spurgeon on injured reserve.

Spurgeon has missed the last five games with a foot injury suffered against Nashville on Jan. 22.

The 20-year-old Coyle has 24 points including five power-play goals and 22 penalty minutes in 44 games with Houston in his first pro season. He ranks second on the team in goals and tied for third in scoring.
