COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defenseman James Wisniewski on injured reserve retroactive to Feb. 24 and he is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a broken right foot.

Wisniewski was injured when he was struck by a shot during Sunday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

He had three goals (all on the power play) and six assists in 15 games this season. The 29-year-old had picked up a point in eight of his last nine games prior to being hurt.

Originally acquired in a trade with Montréal on June 29, 2011, Wisniewski has 36 goals and 148 assists in 392 career NHL games with Chicago, Anaheim, the New York Islanders, Montreal and Columbus.
