SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — A woman died after a large maple tree fell through the roof of her Silver Spring home and onto her bed during a thunderstorm.

Montgomery County fire and rescue crews found the 71-year-old woman in a second-floor bedroom.

She lived alone, and emergency crews had force their way into the locked home.

Police said Saturday that an autopsy will confirm the cause of death, but she apparently died from the injuries caused by the tree's fall during Friday's storm.
